According to the latest press release of NTT DoCoMo, i-mode users exceeded 26 million. Total number of Internet-ready cellular phones in Japan has reached 40 million units. In Japan, i-mode accelerated the "B to C" use of mobile communication dramatically. With the evolution of next generation mobile computing devices and infrastructure, huge growth is expected in "B to B" and "B to E" application environment. To Japanese audience, this forum will
■ Feedback the results of The Open Group MMF's working group activities,
■ Help developing mobile strategy from the experiences of advanced users from U.S. and Europe
■ And gather the challenges and requirements of mobile computing for the future MMF activities.
In addition, audience is able to feedback issues and experiences for the better mobile computing environment.
MMF sessions on day one (Sep 20) will include the special guest speech from Mr. Ohboshi, Chairman of NTT DoCoMo, one of the worlds largest mobile communication companies addressing the past, present and future of mobile communications in Japan. From the secretaries of The Open Group MMF, executives from J.P. Morgan Chase & Company and The Boeing Company will feedback their achievements and future plans of business innovation using mobile communications. Those sessions will provide outstanding references of mobile application in making corporate mobile strategy.
On day 2, morning session will discuss about mobile applications. The speakers from Japanese key industries will explore the experiences, issues and challenges that are faced in the development and implementation of the mobile solution to enable the implementation of B to B and B to E. Afternoon sessions are MMF technical sessions. MMF staffs and member executives will introduce MMF programs and future plans for further discussion inviting the opinion from attendees from Japan. In addition, sponsor companies will have exhibitions and demonstrations of mobile solutions and products during the conference for September 20 and 21.

Application Session: September 21st (FRI)
Morning sessions will discuss mobile applications. The speakers will explore the experiences, issues and challenges that are faced in the development and implementation of the mobile solution to enable the successful implementation. Speakers from Japanese key industries will include Toyota Motor Corp., Nissay Information Technology (Nippon Life Insurance Company),and Meiji Seika K.K.(TBD)
After lunch, afternoon sessions are MMF technical sessions. MMF staffs and member executives will introduce MMF programs and future plans for further discussion inviting the opinions from attendees from Japan.
